The Supreme People's Procuratorate announced that the case of Zhongpai infringing on Huawei Hisilicon chip technology trade secrets, guided by the Supreme Procuratorate, was sentenced on July 28. None of the 14 defendants appealed within the ten-day period, and the first-instance verdict has now taken effect. In this case, the illegally obtained technical information was valued at 317 million yuan. The defendant Zhang, former head of the RF chip development department at Hisilicon, left the company and founded Zhongpai. He recruited Zhou, Liu, Zhou, and Gu from both before and after the establishment of the new company, appointing them as executives and responsible for their respective technical departments. Subsequently, Zhang and the other four decided to develop Wi-Fi chips similar to those of Hisilicon. In order to shorten the development cycle, quickly put into production, and attract financing, Zhou and others recruited seven more employees from Hisilicon with good salaries and development prospects as conditions. Before and after leaving, these seven employees, at the request of Zhongpai, either on their own or in collusion with current Hisilicon employees, used improper methods such as screenshots, copying, and WeChat transmission to obtain Hisilicon's technical information.
