In Myanmar, Chinese-funded enterprises have released their first corporate responsibility reports. Myanmar officials: will continue to create a favorable business environment for Chinese-funded enterprises.
According to the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, on August 24th, the launch event of the "Social Responsibility Report of Chinese-funded Enterprises in Myanmar" organized by the Myanmar Chinese Enterprise Chamber was held in Naypyidaw. Ambassador Ma Jia and Myanmar Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Thaung Tun attended and delivered speeches. About 170 people from relevant Myanmar government departments, chambers of commerce, and representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises participated. U Thaung Tun appreciated and thanked Chinese-funded enterprises for their outstanding contributions to Myanmar's economic development, especially in infrastructure construction, education and training, healthcare, environmental protection, earthquake relief, and disaster response. He stated that the Myanmar Ministry of Investment will continue to create a favorable business environment for Chinese-funded enterprises and deepen economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
