NVIDIA announces the launch of its Jetson AGX Thor robot chip module development kit priced at $3,499. This chip, known as the "robot brain", will be shipped to customers next month for making robot prototypes. For bulk orders of over 1,000 Thor T5000 modules, each module is priced at $2,999. The chip is equipped with NVIDIA's Blackwell graphics processor, which is 7.5 times faster than previous generations and supports generative AI models with up to 128GB of memory. CEO Jensen Huang sees robot technology as a key growth area, accounting for 1% of NVIDIA's revenue, but with sales expanding rapidly at an annual growth rate of up to 72%.
