A Chinese company has invested in and built the first section of the fully enclosed expressway in Bangladesh, which is now officially open for traffic.
The first section of the Dhaka Ring Expressway, the first fully enclosed highway in Bangladesh invested and built by Chinese companies, officially opened on the 24th and is 18 kilometers long. It will help ease traffic congestion in the capital Dhaka and inject new energy into regional economic vitality. The Dhaka Ring Expressway project is invested, constructed, and operated by Sichuan Road & Bridge Group Co., Ltd., with a total length of about 48 kilometers and a total investment of 412 million US dollars. The project is located in the eastern part of the Dhaka Special Zone, connecting industrial areas in the north and northeast of Bangladesh, and linking several national highways. It is a key transportation route connecting Dhaka to the second largest city in Bangladesh, Chittagong.
