Zhao Yonggang, CEO of China Securities Index Co., Ltd.: Index investing has entered a new stage.

On August 23, the "2025 Snowball Index Fund Leaders Summit" was held in Shanghai. Zhao Yonggang, General Manager of the Research and Development Department of China Securities Index Co., Ltd., said at the meeting that the domestic ETF market is expanding rapidly, from 550 billion in 2018 to 57 trillion now, becoming an important allocation tool for institutions and individual investors. Zhao Yonggang judged that index-based investment has entered a new stage, with the proportion of ETF trading volume significantly increasing, the acceptance of new generation investors far exceeding expectations, and still great development space domestically. He proposed five future directions: comprehensive index funds, differentiated strategy index funds, Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, constant proportion multi-asset index funds, and innovative strategy products combining derivatives.
