According to a report from The Times of London on August 20, European senior military officials are discussing the deployment of American F-35 fighter jets in Romania as part of the United States' provision of security guarantees for Ukraine following the end of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The report also states that European countries, in addition to the American jets, hope for assurance that they can continue to use American satellites for global positioning systems and reconnaissance in Ukraine. European countries also hope for a commitment from the United States to provide Ukraine with "Patriot" missile defense systems and advanced surface-to-air missile systems, as well as permission to send reconnaissance planes to fly over the Black Sea. The report mentions that in the early stages of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom has been using "Rivet Joint" electronic reconnaissance aircraft to carry out reconnaissance missions. The report states that these reconnaissance aircraft are manufactured by Boeing and require approval from the United States in order to fly. (CCTV News)
