The State Administration for Market Regulation has officially launched a pilot project for quality and safety coding verification for key products sold online. Safety helmets, electric bicycles, gas stoves, and other 10 categories of products closely related to public safety will pilot the "traceability code" mechanism. The pilot project will cover 10 large and medium-sized e-commerce platforms including Taotian, Kuaishou, Pinduoduo, Douyin, JD.com, Suning, Xiaohongshu, Dewu, Vipshop, and Tencent. Platform companies must strictly review the coding information of products, promote verification through codes, and display dynamic codes; production companies must code from the source to ensure the information is true and complete; local market supervision departments will also strengthen supervision, inspection, and recall of deficiencies, and deal with illegal activities in accordance with the law. Currently, major e-commerce platforms are gradually advancing technology integration and merchant mobilization, and some coded products will be launched successively.
