Bank of America: Bank of England may slow down quantitative tightening pace.
Agne Stengeryte and Mark Capleton of Bank of America stated in their report that the Bank of England may continue with its current gilt sale plan, maintaining balanced sales across different maturities. The Bank of England is expected to announce its gilt sales or quantitative tightening arrangements starting from October at its meeting on September 18. The two strategists pointed out that the Bank of England has indicated that the impact of quantitative tightening on 10-year and 30-year gilts is quite significant. Therefore, a policy of deviating from reducing gilt sales as evenly as possible across different maturities is "still unlikely." Bank of America predicts that the Bank of England will announce a slowing down of the pace of quantitative tightening.
