During President Moon Jae-in's visit to the United States, South Korean companies will announce a $150 billion investment plan in the United States.
The Korean Daily quoted an unnamed government official as reporting that South Korea will announce a plan to invest approximately $150 billion in private companies in the United States at the upcoming summit between Moon Jae-in and Donald Trump. This is different from the $350 billion investment fund agreed upon during last month's tariff negotiations. These investments include projects that South Korean companies have already started or plan to undertake in the United States, such as Samsung Electronics' chip factory and Hyundai Motor's $21 billion investment commitment. Hanwha Group has devised specific investment plans related to cooperation with American shipbuilding. It is expected that the summit will not discuss the specific details of the $350 billion investment agreement reached last month.
