Due to a collapse in the mine, the Chilean National Copper Corporation has lowered its copper production target for 2025.
On August 20th, local time, Rubn lvarado, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Chilean National Copper Corporation, stated that due to the production stoppage caused by the El Teniente copper mine accident, the refined copper production at the company's division is expected to decrease by 33,000 metric tons in 2025, with a corresponding decrease in copper sales profit of 233 million US dollars. The company will adjust its copper production target for 2025. lvarado pointed out that the economic loss caused by this production reduction is estimated to be 340 million US dollars, slightly higher than the company's previous estimate of 300 million US dollars based on a production reduction of 20-30,000 tons announced last week.
