On the eve of the commissioning of the Ningxiang HVDC project, on the afternoon of the 19th, the Jiangsu Provincial Government and State Grid Corporation of China held a working meeting in Changsha to jointly promote the construction of a new energy system and a new power system. Mao Weiming, Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, and Pang Xiaogang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and General Manager of State Grid Corporation of China, attended the meeting. Mao Weiming stated that the province's stable electricity supply capacity has reached 50.76 million kilowatts, successfully coping with the test of the highest historical load of 46.64 million kilowatts this summer; during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the province's cumulative energy consumption per unit of GDP decreased by 14.9%, 4.1 percentage points higher than the national average; the province has established four national key laboratories for disaster prevention and reduction in the power grid, and the ultra-high voltage transmission and transformation equipment cluster has been selected as a national industrial cluster. He hoped that State Grid Corporation of China will continue to leverage its advantages in funds, talents, technology, and further increase investment in Hunan, strengthen cooperation in ensuring power supply during peak summer demand, construction of new energy systems, support major projects such as Xinjiang-Hunan, Hunan-Guangdong, and Hunan-Guizhou interconnected networks, and help Hunan continuously improve its power supply security and the level of interconnection of power infrastructure to create a regional hub for power exchange.
