Yang Yao, former deputy head of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Department of Hubei Province, has been expelled from the party and removed from office for privately viewing materials with serious political issues.

After investigation, Yang Yao lost his ideal and belief, betrayed his original heart and mission, was disloyal and dishonest to the party, resisted organizational review, privately read materials with serious political issues; ignored the spirit of the Central Eight-point Regulation, improperly accepted gifts, accepted invitations and travel arrangements that may affect the fair execution of public duties; violated organizational principles, did not report personal matters as required, did not truthfully explain issues during organizational inquiries, improperly sought benefits for others in cadres selection and appointment work; used his power to secure projects for relatives for personal gain, engaged in corrupt activities; failed to properly carry out farmland protection work, turned a blind eye to illegal occupation of farmland issues; led a corrupt lifestyle; ignored laws and regulations, deeply tied his interests with unethical businessmen, engaged in new forms of hidden corruption, exploited his position to seek benefits for others in project contracting and construction, and illegally accepted large sums of money.
