Chung Yuan Mortgage: Hong Kong's elderly mortgage registrations in July increased by 50% compared to the previous month, reaching 39 cases, the highest level in nine months.

According to the data from the Central Mortgage Research Department and the Land Registry, the Wisdom Financial APP learned that in July 2025, Hong Kong recorded 39 cases of reverse mortgage registrations, an increase of 13 cases (50%) compared to the 26 cases in June. This is the highest level in 9 months since October 2024. As for the first seven months of 2025, a total of 229 cases of reverse mortgage registrations were recorded, a decrease of 16.4% compared to the 274 cases in the same period of 2024.
