On August 18th, Mayor Qin Weizhong of Shenzhen met with the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Chen Guoji, and his delegation in Shenzhen to discuss issues related to further strengthening cooperation and better meeting the customs clearance needs of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong land ports. Qin Weizhong stated that this year is a key year for securing victory in the period of the 14th Five-Year Plan and planning for the 15th Five-Year Plan, as well as the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. We will deeply study and implement the important speeches and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, work together with Hong Kong to solidify the new positioning of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as "one point, two places", continue to strengthen the interconnection and interoperability of infrastructure between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and coordinate the alignment of rules and mechanisms, actively promote the coordinated upgrade of cross-border infrastructure, innovate in customs clearance inspection models, further optimize and improve the facilitation level of customs clearance for residents and tourists, and better serve the convenient flow of factors and the integrated market construction in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
