On August 18th, local time, Air Canada announced that the Canadian Industrial Relations Board has ruled the strike by its flight attendants as "illegal". However, the union has stated that "the strike is not over yet". Air Canada released a statement on its website on the morning of the 18th, stating that the Industrial Relations Board has ordered the union leadership to inform its members to stop the strike and return to work. After the statement was released, the union stated that "the matter is not over yet". The union had previously announced that it had filed a lawsuit in Federal Court regarding the federal government's enforcement of arbitration. Due to the ongoing strike by flight attendants, Air Canada has not yet disclosed its plans to resume flights on Monday.
