The National Student Financial Aid Management Center issues the 3rd warning for 2025: Beware of the "student loan processing" scam. Recently, during the peak period of applying for credit-based student loans, we have found that some unscrupulous individuals have infiltrated student loan consultation QQ and WeChat groups, pretending to be staff members and adding students in the group as friends. They use the excuse of encountering problems in processing student loans to commit fraud. Students applying for student loans must be vigilant and not easily accept friend requests from strangers. The processing of national student loans does not involve any fees, and there will be no request for money transfers. If students have any questions during the student loan application process, please contact the local county-level or school-level student financial aid management department. If you suffer any financial losses, please report to the police immediately.
