Brazilian President Lula said at the opening ceremony of Chinese car manufacturer Great Wall Motors' factory in Sao Paulo state last Friday, "The Brazilian government is reliable. Whoever wants to leave, can leave. Whoever wants to come, we welcome with open arms." Lula criticized US President Trump's imposition of a 50% tariff on Brazilian goods in his speech, and stated that Brazil is facing "unnecessary turbulence."
