The first trial of the case of dereliction of duty and bribery by Song Quanan, former member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of China Financial and Economic Publishing Media Group, a state-owned company, has been announced.

On August 15, 2025, the Intermediate People's Court of Weifang City, Shandong Province, publicly pronounced the first instance judgment on the case of dereliction of duty and bribery by Song Quan'an, former member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of China Finance and Economic Publishing Media Group. The defendant Song Quan'an was sentenced to two years and six months in prison for dereliction of duty as a state-owned company employee; sentenced to two years in prison for bribery, and fined RMB 200,000. It was decided to enforce a sentence of three years and six months in prison, and a fine of RMB 200,000. The proceeds from Song Quan'an's bribery crime shall be confiscated according to law and turned over to the state treasury.
