A nursing home fire in northeast Portugal left six people dead.

On the morning of August 16th, local time, a fire broke out in a nursing home in Mirandela, Bragana District, northeast Portugal. The nursing home confirmed that the accident has resulted in the deaths of 6 elderly people. Preliminary investigations suggest that the source of the fire may be related to a short circuit in an anti-bedsore mattress. Approximately 90 elderly residents of the nursing home were evacuated and relocated to other facilities, and authorities have launched an investigation.
