Aviation consulting firm Cirium predicts that the A320 series will soon surpass its American competitors to become the commercial aircraft with the highest number of deliveries in history. Data shows that as of early August, Airbus has closed the gap to just 20 aircraft, with a lifetime delivery total of 12,155 A320 series aircraft. This gap is likely to disappear next month. After nearly four decades of catching up, Airbus has finally caught up with Boeing.
