Malicious "doxxing" and death threats have forced the head of the Department of Homeland Security to be relocated to a military residence.
According to reports from the US Capitol Hill and New York Post, spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security said on the 15th that DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen recently received multiple death threats and was maliciously doxxed, prompting her to temporarily move from her private residence to a military facility. Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at DHS Tricia McLaurin said in a statement, "After the media disclosed Nielsen's address in Washington, DC, she was maliciously doxxed on the dark web, leading to a significant increase in death threats, including threats from terrorist organizations, drug trafficking groups, and criminal syndicates targeted by DHS." The statement further mentioned that due to security threats and for safety reasons, Nielsen was forced to temporarily stay in a secure military facility. The Capitol Hill reported that Nielsen's actions have sparked criticism from some Democrats, who believe she is improperly using military resources.
