Local precipitation will exceed 100 millimeters, Shandong province has initiated a Level IV emergency response for flood control.
According to the weather forecast, from the afternoon of August 14th to the daytime of the 17th, there will be significant rainfall in Shandong Province, mainly concentrated in the night of the 14th, the afternoon to night of the 15th, and the night of the 16th. The distribution of rainfall is uneven, with the accumulation of significant rainfall in the central and northern regions. The province's accumulated average precipitation is expected to be 15-30 millimeters, with parts of Liaocheng, Dezhou, Binzhou, Dongying, Jinan, Tai'an, Zibo, the northern part of Weifang, and the northern part of Yantai expecting 30-40 millimeters locally 100-200 millimeters, while other areas may receive 5-15 millimeters, with some areas receiving over 50 millimeters. The maximum hourly precipitation is expected to be 40-80 millimeters. This forecasted rainfall process is characterized by a "weak system but strong impact" trend, which is highly overlapping with the previous rainfall areas, displaying certain levels of extremity and disaster potential. After consultation and assessment, the Shandong Provincial Flood Control Headquarters has decided to initiate a level four flood control emergency response in cities such as Jinan, Zibo, Dongying, Yantai, Weifang, Tai'an, Dezhou, Liaocheng, and Binzhou starting at 18:00 on August 14th.
