On August 14th local time, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the Ukrainian armed forces unmanned systems unit, in conjunction with the Ministry of Defense's General Intelligence Directorate, carried out an attack on the Russian Volgograd Refinery in the early hours of that day. The refinery is owned by Lukoil-Volgograd Refinery, mainly supplying fuel products to the Russian military. The Ukrainian military stated that multiple attack drones hit the target, causing a large-scale fire at the refinery, and the specific losses are being verified. The Volgograd Refinery is one of the largest fuel production companies in southern Russia, processing over 15 million tons of crude oil annually, accounting for 5.6% of Russia's total refining capacity, producing diesel, gasoline, and aviation fuel, and is of crucial importance to the Russian military logistics. Ukraine emphasized that it will continue to weaken Russia's fuel production capabilities, strike its military power, make Russia pay a price, and stop the war against Ukraine. Russia has not responded to this.
