German container shipping company Hapag-Lloyd: After a 6% increase in global container shipping volume in 2024, it is expected to increase by 3% each in 2025 and 2026. Following the scrapping of 100,000 TEU capacity per year in 2023 and 2024, there may be no more scrapping of capacity in 2025. The estimated global ship delivery volume for 2024 is 3.1 million TEU, planned delivery volume for 2025 is 1.8 million TEU, and expected delivery volume for 2026 is 1.6 million TEU. Currently, there are 9.3 million TEU in global ship orders, accounting for 29% of the global fleet, higher than the 27% in 2024.
