Confronting Musk's Neuralink! OpenAI and Ultraman are rumored to invest in the brain-machine interface startup Merge Labs.

According to the financial news app 36kr, citing sources familiar with the matter, OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman are preparing to support a brain-computer interface startup company called Merge Labs, which competes with Elon Musk's Neuralink, and raise funds for it. Merge Labs is currently raising funds at a valuation of $850 million, and sources say that most of the funding is expected to come from OpenAI's venture capital team.
