Former Fed official Bullard: Willing to serve as Fed chair if independence is respected
Former St. Louis Fed President James Bullard said that if the independence of the Federal Reserve is respected, he would be willing to accept the position of Federal Reserve Chair. Bullard confirmed to CNBC that he had a conversation with Treasury Secretary Scott Benett on Monday. "We had a brief discussion, and I told him that it sounds like they haven't finalized the process yet, but I also said that I am willing to move forward in the way they want."
