On August 12th, the self-driving technology company WeRide (NASDAQ: WRD) announced that the company's founder and CEO, Han Xu, has been invited by the Singapore government to join the Singapore Autonomous Vehicles Steering Committee to participate in the formulation of future Singapore national policies, operating standards, and technology roadmap for autonomous vehicles. It is reported that the Steering Committee on Autonomous Vehicles was officially established by the Singapore Ministry of Transport on July 31st with the aim of coordinating and promoting the safe and steady implementation of autonomous driving technology in Singapore. WeRide and Waymo are the only two overseas company representatives invited to join the committee.
