Economic half-yearly reports from various places in the Yangtze River Delta region have been released: 17 cities have achieved a growth rate of over 6%, with Zhoushan, Shaoxing, and Huai'an leading the way.

In the concluding year of the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan", the progress has already exceeded half. The economic performance in the first half of the year for 41 municipalities and prefecture-level cities in the Yangtze River Delta region has been released. Among them, the GDP growth rate of 34 cities exceeds the national average of 5.3% or is at par with it, with 17 cities reaching or exceeding 6%. The island city of Zhoushan in Zhejiang province has taken the lead with a growth rate of 6.9%. It is worth noting that this year, the economic growth rate of the two "central cities in the eastern region", Hangzhou and Nanjing, has significantly increased.
