Partial control of the wildfires in the southern part of France, authorities are increasing reinforcements to prevent reignition.
The French fire department announced on the 9th that the largest wildfire in over half a century in the southern department of Aude has been contained. Local authorities have allowed residents to return home since the night of the 8th. At the same time, about 1,400 firefighters have been deployed on the 9th to prevent the fire from spreading again. Aude official Christian Pretre said at a press conference on the 9th that the fire was contained on the 7th and all roads have now reopened, but access to forest areas is strictly prohibited.
