Today, reporters learned from the Gansu Financial Regulatory Bureau that after the mountain torrents caused by continuous heavy rainfall in Yuzhong County, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province and other areas, the financial regulatory authorities have instructed and urged banks and insurance institutions within their jurisdiction to initiate emergency plans, strengthen coordination with local governments and emergency management departments, accelerate insurance claims processing, ensure financial services in disaster areas, and help affected enterprises and people resume normal production and life as soon as possible. According to preliminary statistics, as of 4 p.m. on August 9, insurance institutions in Gansu have received 322 reports of losses related to heavy rainfall, with an estimated loss of 20.9959 million yuan; 119 cases have been compensated, with a total payout of 6.0782 million yuan.
