According to the latest statistics published by the internal affairs management department in Taiwan, as of the end of July this year, the total population of Taiwan was 23,337,936. After calculating natural increase and social increase, the total population decreased by 8,805 compared to June, marking the 19th consecutive month of negative growth. According to household registration data released on the 8th, the population of people aged 65 and above in Taiwan is 4.58 million, accounting for 19.64% of the total population. It is estimated that Taiwan will officially enter an "ultra-aged society" this year when the percentage of people aged 65 and over in the total population reaches 20% or higher.
