According to the data from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, as of the week ending August 5, speculators increased their net short positions on Chicago Mercantile Exchange U.S. 5-year Treasury note futures by 24,994 contracts to 2,536,877 contracts; net short positions on U.S. 10-year Treasury note futures increased by 63,204 contracts to 959,834 contracts; and net short positions on U.S. 2-year Treasury note futures increased by 122,286 contracts to 1,325,523 contracts.
