The US vascular interventional brain-machine interface company Synchron recently publicly demonstrated for the first time that a patient with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis implanted with a vascular interventional brain-machine interface system can control an iPhone, iPad, and other devices through thoughts without the need for physical movements or voice commands. This marks Apple's recognition of brain signal recognition as a native input method alongside touch, keyboard, and voice. Currently, Synchron has made progress in multiple clinical trials in the United States, allowing six patients to achieve precise deployment and coverage of their motor cortex in the brain, enabling them to operate electronic devices such as sending emails, online shopping, and engaging in social media interactions through thoughts.
