On August 6, American semiconductor wafer foundry giant GlobalFoundries announced that it will expand its cooperation with Apple to bring more semiconductor manufacturing business into the United States, focusing on cutting-edge wireless technology and power management solutions. This collaboration will accelerate GlobalFoundries' investment in its advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility in Malta, New York. Previously, GlobalFoundries announced in June of this year its plan to invest $16 billion to enhance its semiconductor manufacturing and advanced packaging capabilities in its New York and Vermont factories.
