Portugal's unemployment rate dropped to 5.9% in the second quarter.

According to data from Portugal's National Statistics Institute, the unemployment rate in Portugal decreased from 6.6% in the first quarter to 5.9% in the second quarter. The unemployment rate for men decreased from 6.2% in the first quarter to 5.3%. The unemployment rate for women decreased from 7.0% in the first quarter to 6.5%. The long-term unemployment rate decreased from 2.4% in the first quarter to 2.3%. The number of unemployed people decreased from 365,800 in the first quarter to 329,500.
