Droughts have occurred in many areas, Henan Province has started night-time watering, taking multiple measures to resist drought and protect the nation's granaries.

Recently, affected by continuous high temperatures and little rainfall, drought has occurred in many areas such as Henan and Anhui. In places like Luohe and Zhumadian in Henan, various methods such as using new well machines and conducting nighttime irrigation are being used to meet the irrigation needs of autumn crops. In the fields under the night sky, water pumping equipment is operating in an orderly manner. Local villagers explained that watering at night not only greatly reduces water evaporation and increases efficiency, but also avoids the stress damage caused by watering in high temperatures during the day, better protects the normal growth of roots and leaves. In order to ensure that the fields are thoroughly watered during the drought, Zhumadian has also established a drought relief service team to provide assistance. According to the latest agricultural dispatch in the area, Zhumadian has supplied 150 million cubic meters of water for drought relief and irrigated 26.9554 million mu of land. It is reported that Henan has allocated a total of 260 million yuan in special funds recently to fully support the work of drought relief and autumn harvest.
