On August 4th, local time, Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast held a completion ceremony for its electric vehicle assembly plant in the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Tamil Nadu, India. The Tamil Nadu factory is VinFast's fifth project globally and its third operational production base, as well as the company's first factory outside Vietnam. After full operation, the factory is expected to directly create 3,000 to 3,500 jobs and thousands of indirect jobs in the local area. In the initial stage, the factory will focus on assembling two electric SUV models, the VF 7 and VF 6. The initial annual production capacity is 50,000 units, which can be increased to 150,000 units in the future to meet the growing market demand.
