Vietnamese electric vehicle company VinFast's India assembly plant has officially been completed, with an annual production capacity of up to 150,000 vehicles.
On August 4th, local time, Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast held a ceremony for the completion of their electric vehicle assembly plant in the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Tamil Nadu, India. The VinFast Tamil Nadu factory is the company's fifth project globally, the third production base officially put into operation, and the first factory outside of Vietnam for VinFast. Upon full operation, the factory is expected to directly create 3000 to 3500 jobs locally, as well as thousands of indirect jobs. In the initial stage, the factory will focus on assembling the VF 7 and VF 6 electric SUV models. The initial annual production capacity is 50,000 vehicles, which can be increased to 150,000 in the future to meet the growing market demand.
