Tencent leads investment in Uzbekistan financial technology company Uzum, valuing it at $1.5 billion.

Tencent Holdings Limited and VR Capital Group led a round of investment in Uzbek financial technology and e-commerce company Uzum, valuing the company at around $1.5 billion. Uzum announced on Tuesday that this round of investment raised nearly $70 million, with FinSight Ventures also participating.
