On the 4th local time, Alexandre de Moraes, a judge of the Supreme Federal Court of Brazil, announced that former president Jair Bolsonaro had violated the rules by using the social media accounts of his three sons and other allies in Congress to spread information that "clearly encourages and incites attacks on the Supreme Federal Court and openly supports foreign intervention in the Brazilian judicial system." He therefore ordered him to be placed under house arrest and prohibited from leaving. Moraes believes that Bolsonaro's actions clearly violate the preventive measures previously imposed on him, so he ordered him not to leave his house, wear an electronic ankle monitor, prohibit visits from anyone other than family and lawyers, and confiscate communication devices in his home. Moraes also stated that Bolsonaro's behavior indicates that "it is necessary to take more severe measures against him to prevent him from committing crimes again." (CCTV News)
