Hema membership stores will be closing down soon.

On July 29th, an announcement from the Hema X Membership Store in the Beijing World Flower Gate store stated that the store will be closed on July 31st. On the same day, the Hema X Membership Store in Suzhou Xiangcheng store and Nanjing Yanziji store will also close. After this, there will only be one Hema X Membership Store left in the country. However, when Economic Observer called the Hema X Membership Store in Shanghai Senlan store, customer service confirmed that the store will also close on August 31st. This means that all Hema membership stores have closed down. This signifies that Hema has completely divested from the membership store business, once seen as the "second growth curve" and touted as comparable to Costco.
