The major stock indices in Europe closed collectively higher, with the German DAX30 index up 1.23% at 23,759.73 points; the UK FTSE 100 index up 0.56% at 9,119.65 points; the French CAC 40 index up 1.14% at 7,632.01 points; and the European Stoxx 50 index up 1.52% at 5,243.95 points.
