Boeing workers' strike is affecting the production and maintenance of multiple American military aircraft. Boeing executives: fewer workers compared to last time.
On August 4th local time, workers at Boeing's factory in St. Louis, Missouri officially went on strike. Approximately 3,200 workers are participating in this strike, as they are dissatisfied with the pay raise offered by Boeing. According to the American media website "Business Insider", the Boeing factory in St. Louis is mainly used to produce and maintain the F-15 and F/A-18 fighter jets currently used by the US military. The strike by the factory workers is expected to have a negative impact on the maintenance and production of US military aircraft. Boeing's CEO, Kelly Ortberg, mentioned the impact of the strike by the Boeing factory workers in St. Louis during a recent earnings conference, stating that he is not very concerned about the impact of the strike. However, the reason he gave is that this strike, involving 3,200 workers, is "one order of magnitude" smaller than the larger strike involving 30,000 workers last fall.
