A study conducted by multiple Greek institutions shows that, due to climate change, there is a significant warming trend in the Mediterranean Sea, seriously threatening the marine ecosystem and sustainable development of fisheries in the region. According to Greek newspaper "Daily News" on the 4th, Greek marine scientist Sophia Damaraki of the Greek Research and Technology Foundation stated that from 1982 to 2023, the average annual sea surface temperature in the Mediterranean Sea has increased by 0.041 degrees Celsius.
