On the evening of August 3, the Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention urgently held a "key village 'pulling out the nail' action against chikungunya fever-related epidemic mosquito control technical training course" at the Foshan Public Health Center. 170 members of the training guidance team, quality control evaluators, and experts at all levels attended. Liu Qiyong, the chief expert in vector biology at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, director of the WHO Collaborating Center for Monitoring and Management of Vector Biology, and chairman of the Global Alliance on Climate Change and Health, was invited to give a lecture titled "Chikungunya Fever and its Mosquito Control Techniques," focusing on the mosquito control strategy for chikungunya fever. He discussed the rapid delineation of core areas and alert areas in epidemic points, the timing selection of ultra-low volume spraying and residual spraying, as well as the scientific ratio and precise use of instruments and drugs. He emphasized the three strict requirements of thoroughly cleaning breeding sites, inspecting villages every day, and flipping over containers every five days, and clarified the evaluation standards for prevention and control effectiveness.
