Zhejiang has become the first "Ecological Province" in China.

On August 4, at the press conference of the 2025 "Vibrant China Research Tour" Zhejiang theme interview event, Ma Shengcong, Deputy Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Ecological Environment, stated that over the past 20 years, Zhejiang has explored a path of green high-quality development that includes economic transformation and upgrading, continuous environmental improvement, and balanced urban-rural harmony. Zhejiang has become the first ecological province in China, and initiatives such as the "Million Projects," "Ant Forest," and "Blue Cycle" have successively won the United Nations highest environmental honor, the "Earth Guardian Award." "Along the way, we have been striving to do two things well," Ma Shengcong said, "protecting the beautiful mountains and rivers, and developing the economy."
