JF: Global copper production has increased slightly in the second quarter, but is expected to gradually slow down in the future.
According to an analysis submitted by JFR based on documents from mining companies accounting for 62% of global production, copper production saw a slight increase in the second quarter. These companies reported a 4.7% increase in production compared to the first quarter, which is typically a slow season. Year-on-year, copper production increased by 2.5%, with declines in production from Jiangxi Copper and Freeport offset by increased production from companies such as Codelco, MMG, and Rio Tinto. JFR also stated that it is expected that global copper production growth will gradually slow as existing mine resources become increasingly depleted.
