On August 3rd, local time, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers announced that workers at Boeing's fighter jet assembly plant in the St. Louis area had voted to reject the company's latest labor contract proposal. According to the union resolution, around 3,200 workers will begin strike action starting at midnight on August 4th local time. It is reported that Boeing had previously offered a final proposal including pay raises and more vacation time, but the proposal was rejected by the union vote. The union members are primarily responsible for manufacturing Boeing's fighter jets, missiles, and ammunition, as well as producing components for Boeing's commercial aircraft models. (CCTV News)
