Chen Maobo predicts that Hong Kong's economy will continue to grow in the third quarter.
In the first half of this year, the Hong Kong economy continued to improve, with the local GDP in the second quarter increasing by 3.1% compared to the same period last year. The Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Paul Chan, stated today that Hong Kong's economy grew by about 3% in the first quarter of this year, and maintained its momentum in the second quarter, mainly driven by exports. He expects that the Hong Kong economy will continue to grow in the third quarter, hoping that factors such as visitor arrivals and events will benefit the asset market and business environment.
