Ideal response to heavy truck collision test controversy: Based on real user traffic encounters, we fully entrust third-party testing agencies for testing and certification.
Ideal's first pure electric SUV is embroiled in controversy over heavy truck crash tests. Faced with questioning from netizens, the official Douyin account of Cheng Long trucks replied to netizens saying that the legal department is handling it. In response to this, Ideal Automobiles told Sina Technology that the super crash test between Ideal i8 and a truck is a simulation based on real traffic collision scenarios, fully entrusted to a professional third-party testing and certification organization. The testing site, testing equipment, and testing trucks randomly purchased from the market are all provided by the testing organization, and we have no specific input. Ideal Automobiles stated that Ideal i8 underwent two collisions, the first with an approximately 8-ton truck head-on, producing a transient impact force of over 100 tons, and the second with an approximately 8-ton truck side impact, producing a transient impact force of over 80 tons. After the two collisions, there was no deformation of the A-pillar, B-pillar, C-pillar, or door beams, all 9 airbags deployed, the battery pack did not leak or catch fire, the doors automatically unlocked, and the door handles popped out.
